A MESSAGE FROM SIMON HOOPER

Thames Ditton & Esher Golf Club
Following on from the success of our charity event last year, where we raised over £2500 for Surrey Young Carers, we have decided to hold another charity golf event & raise funds for this often overlooked but very worthwhile cause.

Our event is being held on Sat 25th April 2015, and I’m writing to you in the hope that you will help support this fantastic charity. Are you able to donate a prize for the event? Like last year, we will be offering prizes for the winning golfers, holding a raffle & an auction, with monies raised going directly to Surrey Young Carers. Any item you are able to donate would be truly appreciated.

The money raised will help enrich young carers lives, increase their confidence and open up new opportunities for fun, learning and friendship. Detailed below are some examples of what the money raised can do to help:
• £25 provides a day out for a young carer at a local centre offering challenging activities such as high ropes courses, archery and quad biking
• £100 pays for 10 young carers to have a meal out with other young people who understand their home situation and can offer mutual support
• £500 treats 25 young carers to a pantomime at Christmas
• £1000 provides 12 young carers with an unforgettable sleepover experience at the Science Museum in London
• £2500 allows 16 young carers to take part in a three-day, two-night residential stay at an activity centre

Thank you again for your support last year & hopefully for your help this year.

Regards

Simon Hooper
