Around the States in 90 Days
In 2006, determined to escape a 9 to 5 life, but equally determined not to do anything socially worthwhile, I took the only option available and packed my bags and left for the USA.
The journey started in Washington and ended in San Francisco, via a convoluted route that took in half of the States, most of Route 66, and a small corner of Canada, in one of the hottest summers on
record. Along the way, I got caught in more storms than should have been possible, accidentally commmited three very petty crimes, appeared on the set of a top TV sitcom, and got mistaken for both a serious art collector and a potential terrorist.
When I came home, I started to write a book about it. Around the States in 90 Days is the story of a journey through cities, one-horse towns and no-horse towns, and a lesson in how to see America with just two suitcases, a 1993 Road Map, and one girlfriend for company.
The book is available in paperback or on Kindle (where it costs less for you, but the royalties are higher for me!) via the following links: UK: Around the States US: Amazon Barnes and Noble EU: Around the States
