Manuscript Critiques and Script Reading

'I turned to Andy to help me with my creative writing. In March 2014, I was sitting on a 115,000 word SciFi novel that wasn't quite working. He provided some insightful analysis and then worked through the manuscript with me to knock off the rough edges and polish up the remains. In particular, he helped me with the pacing of my story - his clear experience in constructing a narrative shone through there. My novel was tightened whilst also increasing the depth of the narrative. He was a master at spotting the extraneous information. He also picked up on a bunch of grammatical errors (which was nice), but the real benefit was his eye for the narrative.' Nick M. Lloyd, author of Emergence

‘Andy’s constructive and helpful comments sharpened my prose as well as providing enormous encouragement. I have already had one short story published and hope to build on that success.’ David Webb, author of A Handful of Dust published in Hauntings: An Anthology

'Andy’s input has been invaluable. He helped with the first draft of a play, which improved dialogue and structure. The play has now been selected for the 2014 Southend Playwriting Festival' Graham Large, writer of The Visit

‘I found the course highly instructive. I now read, listen to and watch stories with more appreciation of the authors’ craft.’

‘A very enjoyable course. It got me focused on writing and everything you covered was so relevant and interesting. I learned a lot.’

‘A very informative introduction to creative writing. I have learnt many new things I shall endeavour to put into practice in my writing.’
